About Us
There has been a bookshop on West Moulin Road for more than a decade. Priory Books, established in 2015, proudly served the community until August 2025, when retirement led to the business being passed on to All About Books. Even before Priory Books, Bargain Books could be found a little further up the hill, continuing the area’s long tradition of bookselling.
Much of our stock is sourced locally, from customers bringing in their books and curated books from suppliers and contacts across Perth and Kinross, Dundee, Angus and Fife. In early 2026 we purchased a house clearance stock from Eastbourne on very south coast of England (only 562miles away from the shop), as it was a collection of Scottish (specifically Jacobite) history, so we will literally go the length and breadth of the UK to source the right stock for All About Books.
We also scour every bookshop, car boot sale and auction houses to source the collections we now have here in the shop.
In Scotland, we have a network of publishers and distributors where we purchase our new book and map selection. As well as a community of small second-hand and specialist antiquarian bookshops from whom we buy.
We visit house clearances and online sales platforms seeking job lots of books we know you will love.
We are essentially a “bricks-and-mortar” bookshop. Prior to taking over Priory Books and changing the name to All About Books, Sharon operated a small pop up bookstore for over 6 years, building and developing a knowledge of book sales whilst curating a large collection of books. So what you see in the shop is only 50% of our stock, the rest is in storage waiting its turn to adorn the shelves in the shop. So if you don't see what you are looking for on the shelves come speak to us as it may very well be in storage waiting its turn.
If you are looking for something particular or a bit special come tell us all about it and we will do our very best to source your "wish list" addition. We have sourced and found books and sent them all over the world where they will start their new journey.
